Assistant Professor of Developmental Psychology

The Department of Psychological Science at Berry College invites applications for the tenure-track Assistant Professor position with expertise in developmental psychology to begin in August 2025. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, a productive program of research, and mentoring students in a residential college environment. Faculty are expected to involve undergraduates in their research, serve as academic advisors, and contribute to the vitality of the campus and professional communities through their service. 

A vibrant, collegial department committed to providing students with diverse perspectives and experiences, it emphasizes practical, firsthand experience in the application of psychology and the development of students’ professional and personal skills through internships and research opportunities. Its efforts are bolstered by the George Scholar program, an endowed financial catalyst for undergraduate research, faculty, and student travel, and a lecture series highlighting scholars whose interests align with our faculty-student projects. A distinctive feature of the Department, and the Charter School in particular, is the interdisciplinary nature of its coursework, research, and mentorship.
