Position

The State of Connecticut, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) is currently seeking a qualified and experienced individual for the position of Professional Counselor to join our team.   

Job Duties Include, but not limited to 

• Provides clinical, case management, rehabilitative and recovery-oriented services to an assigned caseload of individuals with serious mental health and/or co-occurring substance and medical disorders. 

• Responsible for the intake, assessment, and ongoing evaluations of clients. 

• Work with clients and team members in the development of Individualized Recovery plans and supporting documentation. 

• Facilitates psychoeducation, therapy or skill building groups as well as provides limited individual and family therapy. 

• Provides culturally sensitive and evidence-based treatments such as DBT, EMDR, IDDT and Trauma treatment and works in the community for a majority of services.  

• Makes community visits to assess individuals in psychiatric crisis situations and complete Emergency Certificates as needed.
