Position

The State of Connecticut, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) is currently seeking a qualified and experienced individual for the position of Advanced Professional Counselor to join our team.   

Job Duties Include, but not limited to 

• Demonstrates the ability to clinically assess risk in the community, to formulate immediate interventions, and administration of Emergency Certificates, as clinically indicated 

• Provides services via the Regional Hotline with the skills to access/triage/activate resources for people who request information, support or crisis intervention 

• Provides Intake services to the 19 towns in the CAC 22 area by completing a psychosocial assessment, risk assessment and other admission paperwork for the purpose of admitting clients to the agency 

• Communicates and works collaboratively with contract agencies, community providers, State of CT DMHAS and community hospitals as well as local and State police
